Sustainability and luxury.
Reuses, ecology, are some of the words that are heard more and more in the world of design. However, and despite the time that we have been hearing talk about sustainability, yet there are people who believe that products resulting from these premises are rude and aesthetically little care. Nothing further from the truth!
This product is the result of the willingness to use leather scraps that are disposed of in the industry and thanks to a good reflection on the shapes and design, has been enhanced, getting a high quality final product.
Atelier OÍ focused in this concept to reuse and enhance the leftovers of skin that are considered as waste, allowing the integration back into the production cycle.
This has been achieved thanks to the study of shapes and design that has been solved through a hexagonal pattern; this allows the manufacturing of the final fabric, generating a pattern of repetitive and suggestive forms.
“The project also allows craft work and especially hand work to be reconsidered” said one of the designers, referring to the Assembly process of the pattern to generate the resulting fabric, which applies to different products of the collection.
